UL 62368-1 (4th edition) and CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 62368-1:25 were published on July 31, 2025, and are now available for product certification.
Among other things, the new edition brings updated safety requirements for audio/video, IT, and communication equipment, aligned with the latest technological developments. It is part of the harmonized approach that consolidates previously separate standards for electrical safety, audio/video, and IT equipment.
Transition period for the 3rd edition
Manufacturers can continue to apply the 3rd Edition of UL 62368-1 for products introduced to the market until February 2027. After that, compliance with the 4th edition of the UL and CAN/CSA standards will become mandatory.
