Qualification of Electromechanical Components

Electromechanical components must be tested under realistic conditions to ensure their functionality and reliability in later use. We offer complete qualifications for a wide range of applications—from automotive and medical technology to aerospace and rail.

Our Test Infrastructure

  • 16 climatic chambers 0,2 m³ to 34 m³)
    • Temperature: –70 °C to +180 °C
    • Humidity: 10 % to 98 %
    • Temperature gradient up to 12 K/min
  • 3 thermal shock chambers with transition times < 10 s
  • 6 Shakers for vibration and shock testing
  • 2 force–displacement test machines
  • Test stations for electrical measurements (e.g., according to IEC 60512)
  • Detailed test reports according to ISO 17025

Electronic Components

  • Functional and reliability testing
  • Climate, environmental and lifetime testing
  • Dewing tests according to automotive specifications

Connector Qualification

Connectors are critical interfaces within electrical systems – their reliability directly affects the performance of entire assemblies.

  • Qualification according to international standards (DIN, IEC, IPC) or customer specifications
  • Functional and reliability testing according to LV 214
  • Contact technology investigations: fretting corrosion, micro motion testing,
  • Testing not only mated contacts but all connection technologies (soldering, crimping, wire wrap, IDC)
  • Failure analysis for failed test samples: X ray, SEM, CT, EDX, chemical analytics, surface analysis

Press-In Connections – Solderless Connections

Press fit technology has become a robust and reliable solderless interconnection method – particularly in safety critical applications such as the automotive industry.

  • Qualification according to IEC 60352 5 / IPC 9797 – extended with automotive specific requirements (e.g., > 150 °C, Acceleration > 50 g)
  • Mechanical, climatic and electrical tests to ensure contact quality
  • Analysis of press in connections:
    • Preparation and evaluation of microsections
    • Testing of plated contacts for whisker formation
    • Microohm measurements to assess contact resistance
